Sandy founded Speech & Language Works in September 2000 to provide essential communication services to individuals and families in Medicine Hat, Alberta.
A graduate of Minot State University, some of the specialized course/certifications Sandy has completed over the years are: Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT©) Institute (Intro and Bridging), Pragmatic Organizational Dynamic Display(PODD), Social, Communication, Emotional Regulation and Transactional Support (SCERTS®) Model, Hanen Programs, Talk Tools, Lidcombe Program, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS™), American Hippotherapy Association Level I and II, Mary Massery’s ‘Breathing Course’
Medicine Hat has been home for Sandy since 1998. She enjoys all that it has to offer, Sandy believes it’s important to give back to the community and has been involved with the Medicine Hat Women’s Shelter Society, Medicine Hat Police Commission, the Root Cellar and many other organizations in Medicine Hat.
Andrea Baht, M.Sc. R.SLP
Speech Language Pathologist
Originally from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Andrea joined the Speech & Language Works team in September 2012. After graduating with her Bachelors in Communication Disorders at Minot State University, Andrea went on to complete her Masters in Speech and Language Pathology at Nazareth College in Rochester, New York. Andrea has had the opportunity to work with clients of all ages and is especially enjoying working with the preschool population.

Cortney joined Speech & Language Works in 2002. She received her Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Diploma from Medicine Hat College and enjoys working with children of all ages to help them learn, grow and communicate.
Cortney was born and raised in Medicine Hat and is now raising her family here with her husband. As a family, they enjoy being outdoors on their acreage feeding cows, camping, and spending time in hockey rinks cheering on their daughter playing ringette and their son playing hockey.
Jamie Hodgman, SLPA
Speech Language Pathologist Assistant
Jamie is a Speech Language Pathology Assistant who graduated from the Therapy Assistant Program at Medicine Hat College in 2010. For the past decade, she has enjoyed working with children from all over our Medicine Hat. Whether it be through social communication or speech and language, one of her favourite things about working in the speech world is helping children find their voice.
Jamie grew up in Prince Albert, Sk and spent her summers with her family camping, canoeing and hiking all over Western Canada. Jamie and her husband continue to enjoy backcountry hiking and camping with friends and family whenever they get the chance.
